Homecoming stunners

Friday’s homecoming game at Hart County High School was filled with a trio of stunning surprises as the Bulldogs defeated the top-ranked Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines after crowning a new Miss Bulldog and Homecoming Queen.

IBA to kick off Manufacturing Week Friday

The Hart County Industrial Building Authority (IBA) is kicking off the celebration of National Manufacturing Week Friday, Oct. 3 with a “Made with Hart Manufacturing Mingle.”    The event will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Hart County is one of just 60 school districts across the state to report a graduation rate of 95 percent or higher, the Georgia Department of Education (DOE) announced Tuesday.    At 97 percent, Hart County’s rate for the class of 2025 comes in nearly 10 points above the state average of 87.

25 years ago (2000)    Oct. 4, 2000 – City-county consolidation may be a step closer if Monday night’s vote by the Hartwell City council is any indication.    The council voted 5-1 to pursue a centralized dispatch of emergency services.
