BOE begins new fiscal, school years with recognition, purchases

The Hart County Board of Education ended fiscal year (FY) 2025 with an unreserved fund equity of about $14 million, according to the financial report presented Monday.    The total showed a $178,893 increase from the previous year.

Arrest made in string of entering auto thefts in Royston

ROYSTON – A 13-year-old juvenile was arrested Sunday for a series of car break-ins in Royston.   The Royston Police Department received 13 reports Aug. 1 about vehicles that had been entered overnight.

School system, local public safety conduct emergency response drill

The Hart County Charter System conducted an emergency response drill in collaboration with local emergency services Aug. 1 at Hartwell Elementary School.    The drill demonstrated the school system’s commitment to the safety and well-being of students, staff and the entire Hart County community.
