Girls basketball looking for youth to step up

The Lady Dogs’ young team from last season is now a year older and looking to make is further in the playoffs this season.
The Hart County High School girls basketball team finished 15-13 last season before falling to Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe in the first round of the state playoffs.

Hart boys basketball expecting continued success under new coach

The Hart County boys basketball season is right around the corner.
The team just completed its first week of practice and is looking forward to the season.
“We’ve done some good things. The guys are working hard,” new head coach Matt Gibbs said.

Junior running-back Nori Moore, nicknamed Duke, marked his name in the record books as Hart County snapped its two game losing streak by defeating the Lions of Hebron Christian on the road Friday, 48-27.

Planning commission meeting postponed due to lack of notice

On Thursday, Oct. 27, the Hartwell Planning and Zoning Commission postponed its meeting in which members would have discussed the annexation request by Kenneth Whitworth and Brandt Bentley for the proposed subdivision between Liberty Hill Road and Fairview Avenue.
