The Hart County High School Bulldog Band has a tradition of excellence that dates back to the early years of Hart County High School. The most recognizable organization on campus, the Bulldog Band prides itself in being the heartbeat of the Bulldog Nation.

Those who have seen The Best Band in the Land’s halftime performance in 2022 know that it’s out of this world. “Beyond” features elements and themes from popular science fiction franchises, and yes, one in particular which takes place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:   Oct. 11 • Bradley Causer, 34, of Lavonia, was arrested and charged with criminal attempt to commit a misdemeanor, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and possession of a drug related object.

Why grow patches of sunflowers?

The love affair goes way back. I’ve always loved digging in the dirt. Maybe it’s the agrarian roots on my mother’s side. Her daddy and his daddy and his daddy walked a thousand miles behind mules. Little wonder I had to have a mule or two or three in my barnyard.

Lake Hartwell FCA to host fifth annual Fields of Faith

Students from Lake Hartwell FCA will join thousands of other youth on athletic fields across the nation on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, to share their Christian faith with fellow students during the annual national Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ (FCA, www.fca.org) Fields of Faith event.

Board of Education approves new LED lights for schools

On Monday, Oct. 17, the Board of Education voted unanimously to allow Georgia Power to install light emitting diode (LED) bulbs in Hart County schools to help save on energy costs.
