Something old could help a new problem in the school system

The Hart County Board of Education recently voted to approve the purchase of about 67 acres of land off Bowman Highway. The land, located between the Agriscience Center and South Hart Elementary could be used for a number of possibilities.

Mental health hotline a positive step

Last week, we covered an important new service soon available for Georgians and Hart County residents, a mental health crisis hotline. The 9-8-8 direct line will operate just like 9-1-1 and send the caller directly to a trained National Suicide Prevention Lifeline counselor.

We are glad to see the Hart County Board of Commissioners listening to “both sides” in the recent short-term rental ordinance issue. As is the case with most controversial topics that come before our county’s elected officials, this issue is nuanced.
