Dogs run over Warriors to win scrimmage

The Dogs rushed for 250 yards en route to a dominant scrimmage win over Oconee County.    On Aug. 8, the Dogs started the 2025 campaign by hosting the Warriors of Oconee County in a scrimmage game. Hart County won the toss and deferred to the second half.

Lady Dogs start season 3-2

After suffering a loss to start the season, the Lady Dogs went 3-1 in a tournament to start the season above .500.    On Aug. 7, Hart started their season with a home opener against the Lady Panthers of Jackson County.

Opinion: One Year Ago

Well, it has officially been a year ago that I published the biggest column I’ve ever written.    As I mentioned in the column, I was honestly scared to publish it just because I didn’t know how people would receive it.    Is it too harsh or is it the wake up call our community needs?

Team Southeast finishes sixth at Senior League World Series

After advancing to the quarterfinals, the road to a World Series title came to an end with a loss in the quarterfinals for Team Southeast.   On July 31, Team Southeast took on Team West in the final game of pool play to determine seeding for the quarterfinal elimination games.

Playing on the world stage

On July 28, Team Southeast began their quest towards capturing a World Series title by taking on Team Canada in the first game of pool play.    After a scoreless first inning, Southeast loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the second.

YMCA ends summer with Pickleball Camp

The YMCA ends summer camps with one of the fastest growing sports in the world — pickleball camp.    On July 21-25, 10 campers were in attendance for pickleball camp as they learned the fundamentals of the game.
