Tallent to take his talents to Clemson

A cannon-armed Hart County pitcher has committed to play baseball at the next level. Casey Tallent recently announced he’ll be taking his “Tallent” to Clemson University, a premiere Division 1 program.

Male runners finish 9th in state, girls finish 14th

The Hart County High School girls’ and boys’ cross country teams both broke the top-15 at the state tournament on Saturday in Carrollton, with the boys cracking the top-10. The boys also put a runner up on the podium for the first time in team history.

Dogs win big: Seniors last home game ends on high note

Senior Bulldogs went out on a high-note in their last regular season home game ever last Friday in Herndon Stadium. The Hart County High School football team  (6-2, 2-2) bounced back from two straight losses in a dominating 49-0 win over East Jackson.

Anglers to compete in FLW event

The Hart County Chamber of Commerce will host the  YETI FLW College Fishing tournament on Friday, Nov. 1, and the Bass Pro Shops FLW High School Open tournament on Saturday, Nov. 2 in Hartwell. The college and high school anglers will each kick off competition at 8 a.m.

The fastest runner in the region led the Hart County High School boys’ cross country team to a second place finish at the Region 8-AAA meet on Oct. 24 in Franklin County. Hart County’s girls ran into a fourth place finish — qualifying both teams for the state meet.

Coming off of two straight losses in games that went down to the wire, the Hart County High School football team (5-2, 1-2) is looking to get back on track this Friday when the Bulldogs face East Jackson (3-4, 0-3) on Senior Night in Herndon Stadium.

Cross country ready for region meet

A battle for the best runners in the region will take place this morning, Oct. 24, as the Hart County High School cross country team travels to Franklin County for the Region 8-AAA meet. “I think we’re about as ready as we can get,” Hart County head coach Cecil Marett said.
