CMA fighters compete

Four members of Chuck Cawthon’s Contemporary Martial Arts in Hartwell, fought kickboxing matches inside a cage at The Warrior Combat Challenge held in Gaffney, S.C. on Saturday, Nov. 14.  CMA went 4-0 as a team, with one match being stopped via TKO.

Pickleballers cut ribbon to new courts at YMCA

On a frigid Tuesday morning, Joby Scroggs and Frank Gunder scored the first point to break in the new pickleball courts at the Bell Family YMCA. The Lake Hartwell Pickleball Club held its first outdoor matches after cutting the ribbon for new outdoor courts on Dec. 1.

PEACE OUT 2020: Hart falls to Carver in first round of state playoffs

The playoff road hit a dead end in Atlanta on Friday for the Hart County High School Bulldogs. In a fan-less affair at Lakewood Stadium in Atlanta, the Bulldogs fell short 32-21 to the Carver (Atlanta) Panthers in the first round of the AAA state playoffs.

Mat Dogs fall in close loss to rival

A rivalry duals match in Elberton Tuesday night ended in a narrow loss for the Hart County High School Mat Dogs. The Mat Dogs traveled to Elbert County where they fell just shy of beating the Blue Devils 39-40 in a duals match. Though, Hart County notched several individual wins in the team’s loss.

Bulldogs down No. 4 class A squad

The stage is set for a home showdown against rival Elbert County (1-0) on Friday as the No. 4-ranked Hart County Bulldogs (2-1) continue to find success on the court. However, coronavirus-prompted restrictions will be in place Friday night for a game that typically draws a packed crowd.
