On Monday, construction began on a massive renovation to The Arts Center of Hartwell on the downtown square.
The hub of Northeast Georgia’s regional arts community, the Arts Center building, located on the corner of E. Howell and Carolina Streets has been condemned for more than a year.

Oglethorpe upping commitment to natural gas

ATLANTA - Oglethorpe Power is going all-in on natural gas as a source of electrical generation.
The Tucker-based utility, which serves 38 electric cooperatives, announced plans Thursday to build two new natural gas projects in Monroe and Talbot counties.
