Funding available for emergency food, shelter programs

Ninth District Opportunity, Inc. has been awarded federal funds under The Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program Phase 42. Hart County has been chosen to receive funding to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county.

Harmony House to hold annual chili cook-off Feb. 8

The annual Harmony House Child Advocacy Center chili cook-off will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Elberton Civic Center. This fundraising event will benefit victims of Child Physical and Sexual Abuse as well as Adult Sexual Assault and the support services provided for them.

Botanical Garden introduces new board members

The Hart County Botanical Garden recently announced its new board members, including a new vice president, president and co-director. Maggie Jackson will service as vice president, Lauren Peacock as president and Jesse Merkley as co-director.
