Former Bulldog makes NFL

Hart County High School alum Anthony Turner has signed to continue his football career in the NFL. Turner, who graduated from Hart County in 2016, signed on to the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent and will be going to the rookie mini-camp on Thursday.

Team Connie Mack Bowers retains Spelling Bee Crown

Six teams representing various organizations on April 28 learned about the words and the bees. The Nancy Hart Literacy Council (NHLC) brought together six competitive teams to help raise support for the Hart County Adult Learning Center in its 20th annual Hart County Spelling Bee.

Candidates for the District 33 seat in the Georgia House of Representatives spoke Saturday at a forum at Franklin Springs City Hall. Incumbent Alan Powell and challenger Dylan Purcell spoke at the forum sponsored by the Franklin County Republican Party.

Gray named Clerk of the Year

Hart County Clerk of Superior Court Frankie Gray was recently honored as the 10th District Superior Court Clerk of the Year by his peers. The honor was voted on by the other 26 clerks in the district. Gray received a plaque to honor the achievement at a special training last week in St.

A new clothing store opened its doors in downtown Hartwell. BW Threads held its ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday, April 28. The boutique clothing store offers clothing, shoes and accessories for men, women and children. The store is located at 150 W. Franklin St.

Medium founds ‘Hartwell Paranormal Society’

Hart County is a hot spot for paranormal activity, according to a local medium. Chip Pettys created the Facebook group Hartwell Paranormal Society for those in the area to share their experience and seek help with the supernatural if needed.
