Lake Homes Realty has listed Lake Hartwell as the No. 1 lake in the areas it serves. The top 10 list is based on page-views received at LakeHomes.com, and the data, collected between Jan. 1 and Dec.

Every year, the Leadership Hart class is tasked with organizing an event or opportunity for community good. This year’s undertaking is “A Night at the Park” scheduled for May 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. — Railroad Street Park’s first true community event.

Ingle tabbed new Chamber director

The Hart County Chamber of Commerce didn’t have to search far for its next executive director, promoting executive assistant Lindsey Ingle to the chamber’s lead role. Ingle applied to the position after Terri Partain announced her resignation in early April.

Elementary student OK after choking scare

A fifth-grade student at North Hart Elementary was transported in an ambulance after a plastic bottle cap became lodged in his throat on Friday. Hart County deputy sheriff Chris Carroll, who was at the school at the time teaching, was one of the first responders on the scene.

National Day of Prayer set for May 5

The National Day of Prayer will be held at noon on Thursday, May 5 on the Hartwell courthouse lawn. In case of rain it will be held at First United Methodist Church. The event is sponsored by the Women’s Interdenominational Bible Study. This year’s theme, Exalt the Lord Who has established us.

Bear sighted in Mt. Olivet area

Residents of the Mt. Olivet area reported over the weekend a bear sighting in the woods near their Hart County houses. Department of Natural Resources game warden Brandon Pierce said, “the main thing is to just let them do their own thing and move on.
