The state House of Representatives handily passed a bill Monday aimed at bolstering school safety in Georgia. The “Safe Schools Act,” which has the strong support of Gov. Brian Kemp, passed on a 148-20 vote. The bill, sponsored by Rep.

Tempers came to a boil over discussions surrounding Paynes Creek Campground during Tuesday’s Board of Commissioners meeting. Contentions first arose as the board members were discussing bids put in for the contract of cutting grass at Paynes Creek Park.
Early voting is underway for the Hart County Board of Education’s ESPLOST. If approved, the upcoming ESPLOST will be the sixth edition in Hart County and is expected to collect over $30 million.
