The Hartwell City Council approved $5.6 million in funding for the construction of a new Hartwell firehouse, during their regular meeting on June 5 at City Hall. At the meeting, Mayor Brandon Johnson and City Manager Jon Herschell presented the council with final cost estimates for the project.

District enrollment for the Hart County Charter System (HCCS) will be moving to the Hart County Board of Education Office. The announcement was made on Tuesday, May 30 and will be implemented in the early-to-mid June.
