Hart County Farm Bureau President Brian Fleming recently announced the Georgia Foundation for Agriculture (GFA) will offer $65,000 in scholarship money for students in the state who are pursuing a degree in agriculture, veterinary medicine, family and consumer sciences or a related field.

The annual Hart Life Holiday Bazaar is slated to take place this Saturday, Dec. 7 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hartwell.
This year, the Bazaar will showcase over 50 artists, crafters and designers.

As the regular December meeting of the Hartwell City Council opened Dec. 2, city leaders took a few moments to honor the long, outstanding careers of two law enforcement officers who have meant so much to Hart County.

When Georgia’s Hall of Fame head coach Vince Dooley took the gig in Athens back in 1964, the last Saturday in November featuring the rivalry game with Georgia Tech was a huge deal in the Peach State.

After winning their season opener on the road at Washington-Wilkes, the Dogs fall on the road to Madison County in the final half of play.
On Nov. 22, Hart traveled to Washington-Wilkes to take on the Tigers in their first game of the regular season.

The Mat Dogs capture a big comeback win against Harlem at home, and then capture first place at the Viking Duals at Lakeside.
On Nov. 20, Hart hosted its first match of the season in a rematch against the Harlem Bulldogs. Hart got down quickly, as they trailed 34-16 with their midweights coming up.
