The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests: The following is a list of names entered into the booking computer at Hart County Jail for Nov. 25-Dec. 1, 2024. Names, ages and towns are listed as they appear in the computer. Offenses listed are charges; guilt has not been proven.

Animal shelter closed for ‘updates’

LAVONIA – The Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter will be closed for the first half of December to make state-mandated changes to its facilities. The closure came after the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s most recent inspection in November.

Hearn sworn-in as Emmanuel’s tenth president

On Nov. 15, Rev. Gregory K. Hearn was inaugurated as Emmanuel University’s tenth president during a campus ceremony in the John W. Swails Center. Hearn, an alumnus of Emmanuel, has served the University for 13 years and has a forward-thinking vision for its future.
