Firefighters battle truck ablaze

A Dodge Ram caught fire Thursday afternoon just before it entered downtown Hartwell. Hartwell firefighters were dispatched to the parking lot of the old Bells Shopping Center, 136 Athens St., at around 4:30 p.m. to a report of a four-door truck on fire.

Deputies make heroin trafficking bust

A Hart County man was arrested for trafficking heroin after he was pulled over for invalid insurance on Aug. 13. Hart County Sheriff’s deputies initiated a traffic stop on a 1994 Honda Civic on Royston Highway around 4 p.m.
