Couple opens homeless, recovery resource center

BOE approves tentative budget

By Adriana Cascio Leading News Reporter   The Hart County Board of Education (BOE) approved a tentative version of its fiscal year (FY) 2026 budget during Monday night’s meeting, projecting a $3.2 million total increase from the previous year’s budget.

Setting parameters for subdividing

Reclaiming the stories of Harmony Grove

By Adriana Cascio Leading News Reporter   A white building, crowned with a modest steeple, marks the location of Harmony Grove Missionary Baptist Church, established as Harmony Grove Baptist Church in the late 1800s, along Merritt Road in Canon.
According to an Algal Bloom Monitoring map (left) from the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services, the entirety of Lake Hartwell is under an “HAB Watch” after a harmful algal bloom was confirmed in several locations on the South Carolina side of the lake. TeeChee finds her ‘fur-ever’ home

By Adriana Cascio Leading News Reporter   TeeChee, a 2-year-old mixed breed, found her forever home with Levi and Kaitlin Owens at her “Adoption Paw-ty” at the Hart County Humane Society Sunday. Kaitlin said TeeChee was the missing piece from her perfect family that she never knew was missing.
