The recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Hart County has made it more difficult and more dangerous for law enforcement officers.

County appraiser contests figures in tax digest

Sirens blared as a Hart County Sheriff’s deputy, and eventually fire trucks, ambulances, investigators, and the coroner arrived outside Hart County High School Monday morning.
A class of students had stumbled upon a crime scene — a dead body inside of a dumpster.

1990: Hartwell’s 214th Artillery Battalion National Guard unit received the National Guard Bureau Superior Unit award for training years 1987 and 1989 for mobilization and readiness.
It also received the Eisenhower trophy as the most outstanding post in Georgia for training years 1987 and 1989.

Former Hart County commissioner R.C. Oglesby is registered to run for Hartwell City Council this November against incumbent Tray Hicks. Oglesby currently has two Superior Court cases pending in which he faces 15 felony charges.
