Hart County residents scammed for thousands

Two elderly people were scammed for a large amount of money on Tuesday, Sept. 8, according to Hart County sheriff Mike Cleveland. Cleveland said the scam started over the phone. “This scam [Tuesday night] was one of the oldest in the books that we have been dealing with forever,” Cleveland said.

Cross-country team runs in Bogart

On Sep. 2, the Hart County Cross Country team traveled to North Oconee in Bogart to compete in the NOHS home meet against 16 other teams. For the Boys 5K, Hart County seniors Diego Martinez, Zachary Benner, and Cole Risner took 10th, 12th, and 33rd in the meet with times of 17:21.38, 17:35.

Volleydogs get revenge on Madison

The Hart County High School volleyball team beat Madison County after losing to them earlier in the season. On Sept. 7, the Volleydogs beat both Athens Christian and Madison County at Hart County High School.

Softball’s bad luck continues

Hart County softball team continues to perform below expectations as they lose to both Franklin County and Elbert County on the road this past week. The Lady Diamond Dogs travelled to Carnesville on Thursday, Sept. 2 and lost to the Lions 8-5.

Kelley Tramples Trojans

The Hart County Bulldogs beat the North Hall Trojans in a back-and-forth battle last Friday night. The Dogs pulled away in the fourth quarter in their victory Sept. 2. The Dog’s defense started strong with a 3-and-out after a North Hall kick-off return into Bulldog territory.
