Meth bust leads to pair of arrests

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported last week a sizable drug bust that led to the arrest of two women. Christy Henson, 41, and Samantha Jo Woods, 30, were arrested Aug.

A woman arrested on charges of falsely representing herself as a veteran allegedly lied about her child’s health issues too. Lavonia Police Chief Bruce Carlisle said it was his understanding that Gabrielle Beutler admitted through investigative interviews that her child never had cancer.

Best sports team at Hart County

Hart County High School’s most anticipated sports team (in my opinion) started off its season last week. The team faced two opponents in one night and emerged victorious against both of them. With the amount of talent on their roster, I imagine the Hart County Volleydogs are in for a big season.

Lady Diamond Dogs lose to Blue Devils

The Hart County softball team lost its first game of the season after a week of no games. On Tuesday,  Aug. 17, the Lady Diamond Dogs fell to Elbert County at home, 10-4. Elbert took the early lead in the first inning, 3-1.

Cross-country kicks off season in Jefferson

The Hart County cross-country teams had their first meet over the weekend. The Bulldogs traveled to Lamar Murphy Park in Jefferson for the second annual Athens Running Company Season Opener 2022 on Aug. 13. The boys team finished fifth overall out of eight schools with a score of 101.

Volleydogs face adversity in first week

The Hart County Volleyball team started last week with two wins at home before playing some tough matches on the road. On Thursday, Aug. 11, the Volleydogs faced Tallulah Falls and Elbert County at home. The first set against Tallulah started shaky for Hart, who went down, 7-2, early.

Hart wins over SC teams in Gridiron Classic

The Hart County High School football team had its first competition of the 2022 season with a scrimmage at Westside High School in Anderson, S.C. The Bulldogs played two South Carolina teams in the Gridiron Classic on Friday, Aug.
