Hart football to face Cross Creek in final non-region game

The Bulldogs will play their final non-region opponent of the season Friday. The Hart County High School football team will host Cross Creek High School on Sept.  23. Cross Creek is a AAA school from Augusta which is currently 1-3 on the season.

XC Dogs place first, second at Reservation Run

The Hart County Cross-country teams competed against region opponents Franklin and Stephens counties at the Reservation Run. The teams traveled to Stephens County High School on Tuesday, Sept. 20. The boys team took first place in the small meet with a total of 32 on the hilly 5K course.

Lady Diamond Dogs continue to struggle in region schedule

The Lady Diamond Dogs losing streak continued as they faced two more region opponents this week. On Thursday, Sept. 15, Hart hosted Oconee County and lost, 14-7. Hart took the early lead with a run in the first inning, but was soon matched and out-scored by the Warriors.

Volleydogs undefeated in first region matches of season

The Volleydogs started the region schedule 2-0 after traveling to Franklin County on Tuesday. On Thursday, Sept. 15, the Hart County High School  volleyball team hosted Clarke Central and Jackson County. The Volleydogs beat the Gladiators easily in two sets, 25-12 and 25-18.

# Throwback Thursday

1920: A newly constructed building designed and purposed for a restaurant opened in Hartwell that featured the best southern food Hart County had to offer at the time. Hailey’s Cafe was spared no expense by owner and operator Dr. J. Henry Hailey.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:   Sept. 13 •Douglas Roberts Jr., 37, of Canon, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and crossing state or county lines with weapons, intoxicants and drugs without consent.
