Hartwell Makers Festival to host more than 40 regional artisans

The Hartwell Makers Festival is back for already its third time in a couple years of existence, with local and regional artisans and makers set to host patrons along Carolina Street this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hart County fields more than 10K voters

By Dawson Baker Staff writer   More than 10,000 people cast a ballot by Tuesday, Nov. 8, in the 2022 midterm election, which is nearly 62 percent of the registered voters in Hart County. “We had a great day,” Robin Webb, Hart County Elections Coordinator said.

YMCA to host youth and adult indoor soccer leagues

The Bell Family YMCA in Hartwell will be offering indoor soccer for youth and adults this winter. Indoor soccer is a brand-new program at the YMCA, according to sports director Kervens Augustin. Augustin said indoor soccer is a great way for kids to work on their skills during the winter.

Girls basketball looking for youth to step up

The Lady Dogs’ young team from last season is now a year older and looking to make is further in the playoffs this season. The Hart County High School girls basketball team finished 15-13 last season before falling to Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe in the first round of the state playoffs.

Hart boys basketball expecting continued success under new coach

The Hart County boys basketball season is right around the corner. The team just completed its first week of practice and is looking forward to the season. “We’ve done some good things. The guys are working hard,” new head coach Matt Gibbs said.
