The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:   March 7   Amy Adkins, 43, of Hartwell was arrested and charged with probation violation - DUI. Kelsey King, 28, of Hartwell was arrested and charged with driving with suspended or revoked drivers license and no insurance.

Old 29 to receive Earth Day love

The Hart County Board of Commissioners selected Old Highway 29 to receive some Earth Day attention as a part of an event in collaboration with the Georgia Upstate Lakes Board of Realtors during Tuesday’s board of commissioners meeting.

Skills USA brings home state championships

The 2023 SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference ended with Hart County bringing home two State Championships and eight medals in total. Students from across the state attended the SkillsUSA Georgia State Championships on March 9-11 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

Seven year old wins Georgia State Wrestling Championship

Hartwell native, Knox Payne, is now a Georgia Wrestling State Champion, after winning it all in Perry, Ga., on March 5. Payne is in just his second year of wrestling and competed last year in the state competition in the 6U division, but was quickly eliminated after losing both matches.
