Hart County Diamond Dog 2023 Preview

The Diamond Dogs opened up their season on the road versus their rival Elbert County. After the end of the 2022 season Josh Osborne announced he would step away from coaching and begin to spend more time with his family.

Leard to continue tennis at Oglethorpe

Senior tennis player Daniel Leard signs with Oglethorpe on National Signing Day. “It’s a big step for me and I’m confident with my decision and [Oglethorpe] is where I want to go,” Leard said.

Boys split against Stephens and Oconee

The Dogs picked up the home win versus Stephens County Feb. 3, but fell to the Warriors on the road versus Oconee County. It was nothing but a heated rivalry between the Dogs and the Indians. The Dogs came out red hot as they led 23-9 at the end of the first quarter of play.

Lady Dogs clinch the No. 2 seed in Region 8-AAA

Senior four-star wide receiver Paul Davis signs with Akron on National Signing Day. For Davis, the journey for his commitment has been crazy. Davis committed to play for Duke before the beginning of his senior season.

Okefenokee tug-o-war is long way from over

The opposing sides are not barefoot on Jekyll Island’s beach, but there’s a definite line drawn in the sand. Feet are dug in, and muscles are straining. On one side is an Alabama mining company and its fleet of high-powered lobbyists.

Bond hearings held for Jan. 17 gang arrests
