The Hart County Board of Commissioners (BOC) met on the evening of Jan. 23 for a quick meeting, voting on a number of agenda items before hearing from a concerned county resident about roads around her home. The BOC amended the agenda, approved the Jan.

Dogs start region play 2-1 with a pair of road victories

The Dogs picked up their first two region wins over the season over Monroe and Stephens. But fell to Hebron Christian and Johnson of Savannah due to third quarter woes. After Hart County canceled school on Jan. 9 for severe weather, the Dogs pushed back their match-up with Monroe Area to Jan. 10.

After a close loss to Dixie, the Mat Dogs responded with a win over East Jackson to send their seniors out on top during the lone home meet.

Carter sets school record for triple jump

BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Emmanuel University Indoor Track and Field team traveled to Birmingham, Alabama over the weekend to compete in the Emory Crossplex Showdown. At the event, the Women’s team finished 6th out of 23 teams.

LAVONIA – The Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter has its 2023-24 discount cards available. Cards are $10 and give the owner discounts and special offers from a variety of businesses. Cards are available for Franklin and Hart counties.

Wreck on Nancy Hart School Rd. leaves one injured

Around 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 16, Georgia State Patrol (GSP) Troopers from Post 52 Hart and the Hart County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wreck off Elberton Highway, on Nancy Hart School Road. Two vehicles had crashed at the intersection of Liberty Hill Church Road and Nancy Hart School Road.
