A second Hart County restaurant in less than a month was lost to a fire Saturday morning. The Hart County Fire Department responded at around 10 a.m. Saturday to The Lake House Tavern on Rock Springs Road.

Power pole fire delays middle, high school pickup

A delivery driver knocked over a power pole Tuesday on Fifth Street in Hartwell, which led to a fire that delayed pickup at Hart County Middle and High School for some parents and buses. Firefighters stood by near the entrance to Bobby Pate Field House from roughly 2:30-3 p.m.

Dorian could make wet Labor Day week

A tropical storm swirling its way toward Southern Florida could mean more rain for Northeast Georgia on Labor Day and into next week, but isn’t likely to cause major problems, a National Weather Service meteorologist said.
