Cooling assistance for elderly/homebound now open

Submitted by Gabby Hester Ninth District Opportunity   Cooling assistance for elderly/homebound households will be available beginning April 1 through Ninth District Opportunity. All applicants must be age 65 or older, or completely unable to leave the home due to health reasons.

HCMS student wins Young Georgia Author Pioneer RESA competition

Submitted by Grayson Williams Hart County Charter System   The Hart County Charter System is proud to announce that one of our system-wide Young Georgia Author contest winners has been selected as a Pioneer RESA Region winner for the contest and will be moving on to the state competition.

Botanical Garden to hold annual plant sale April 12

Humane Society to host 18th annual Dam Dog Walk Saturday

The Hart County Humane Society (HCHS) will host its 18th annual Dam Dog Walk on Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Big Oak Recreation Area located on Highway 29 South. The walk is a dog walking and dog pageant event aimed to support the local humane society and animal shelters.

Pollen puts on a lake show

Doris Mahannah is Loving Life at 108

On Feb. 25, Kristi Zemaitis, missions coordinator at Hartwell First Methodist Church, took children from God’s Gifts Weekday Preschool on their monthly trip to Brookdale. During these visits, the children have the opportunity to share hugs, make new friends and read to the seniors of Brookdale.
