COVID rules rolling back

Pandemic-prompted restrictions banning large public gatherings and requiring distancing are being lifted statewide. Gov. Brian Kemp signed an executive order last week that extended the public health emergency in place since last year, but rolled back many of the most restrictive measures.

Destructive house fire cause unknown

Fire officials are unsure what sparked a blazing house fire that ended in a total loss in the Goldmine community. Firefighters responded to the blaze at 616 Goldmine Holly Springs Rd., around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 26 and fought back flames for about eight hours.

The Hart County Botanical Garden’s annual Plant Sale fundraiser is back and scheduled for April 9-10 at 1277 Ga. Highway 77 South/Elberton Hwy, Hartwell. The members only pre-sale is Friday, April 9, from 2 – 7 p.m. The public sale is Saturday,  April 10, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
