SkillsUSA members reflect on state title

Hart County High School (HCHS) won two first place titles at the SkillsUSA competition in Atlanta, setting the stage for a national competition in June. HCHS competed against 147 schools and 2,198 attendees from across the state of Georgia from Feb.

CAR CATCHES FIRE AT POPEYES: Family, employees exit drive-thru area unharmed

Hartwell city police and firemen were dispatched to Popeyes Chicken around 12:10 p.m. Tuesday in response to a car that had caught fire in the fast food restaurant’s drive-thru line.

SkillsUSA takes home state titles

The Hart County High School SkillsUSA team brought home two state championships and four medals in total from the State Conference over the weekend. The State Leadership and Skills Conference was in-person this year and featured 147 schools competing with 2,198 registered attendees.

Imagination Library holds annual Low Country Boil

A collection of volunteers in Hartwell chipped in to raise money for the Hart County Imagination Library on Feb. 25 by hosting the annual Low Country Boil at the agriscience center.
