Volley Dogs host inaugural LSW Memorial Tournament

The Hart County High School Volleyball team hosted the inaugural Lauren Stewart Wilson Memorial Volleyball Tournament and raised over $3,000 that will go to the Stewart and Wilson family.

Hartwell’s Letitia Scott, a nephrology nurse at DaVita Lake Hartwell Dialysis was honored with the DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses as a part of National Nurses Week. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s programs to recognize the superhuman efforts nurses perform every day.

Hartwell resident opens butcher shop in Toccoa

A new butcher shop and grocery store is opening this weekend in downtown Toccoa. The Farmer and the Butcher is set to host its grand opening at 176 N. Pond St. on Saturday morning just in time for Father’s Day.

AnMed Hospital in Anderson, the medical facility that serves many Hart County residents with their emergency medical needs, was recently named the winner of the 2024 Carolyn Boone Lewis Equity of Care Award from the American Hospital Association (AHA).

Hartwell’s Downtown Development Authority (DDA) recently announced the hiring of Elizabeth Olney as the city’s new Main Street Program Coordinator. The DDA met June 12 and approved the hiring of Olney. Olney will take over the program from Peggy Vickery who retired in April 2024.
