Cateechee’s restaurant open to public, no extra charge

When Cateechee Ranch’s new ownership closed on the property Feb. 9, owner and CEO Tyler Cox stated that reopening its restaurant was a top priority. Now, the restaurant is open to serve members and non-members alike--and Cox is especially looking forward to welcoming the public.

A South Carolina man is in custody after a Aug. 19 drive-by shooting on Lavonia Highway.
According to Captain Chris Carroll of Hart County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), around 10 p.m. that night, a vehicle pulled into a residence’s driveway and fired multiple shots.

Bowman Highway car crash sends woman to hospital

Owner of Southeast Animal Welfare Service charged with animal cruelty

On Friday, Aug. 16, Debra Delores Singletary, 67, of Hart County, was arrested on 26 counts of animal cruelty.
Singletary was keeping 26 dogs in a kennel under the name Southeast Animal Welfare Service located at 1158 Knox Bridge Crossing Road in Lavonia.

On a rain soaked Aug. 22 at the old Nancy Hart hotel, Hartwell’s Kiwanis Club received its charter from Kiwanis International, and welcomed guests from two states in celebration of the event.
