At the Bowersville Town Council’s meeting on Aug. 15, one of the most prominent topics of conversation was a contentious item that was removed from the agenda: the first reading of a resolution on one-waying some of the town’s streets.

Computer forecast for Region 8-AA

The Maxwell Ratings, compiled by mathematician and Georgia High School Football Historians Association founder Loren Maxwell, have projected the region finishes of all 415 football-playing schools in the GHSA.

Bulldogs look to clean up mistakes after loss to Oconee in scrimmage

Crucial mistakes in the first quarter led to the Bulldogs 35-10 loss against the Warriors in the scrimmage game against Oconee County. On Aug. 9, Hart traveled to Watkinsville to take on former region foe, Oconee County in a scrimmage to begin the season.

After 22 years, Mary’s Kitchen to close on Aug. 16

On Aug. 16, 2002, Mary Alice Hinson opened Mary’s Kitchen, which was to quickly become a beloved destination for Southern home-cooking for Hart Countians and visitors alike. This Friday, Aug. 16, the restaurant will officially close after 22 years–to the day–of business.
