With the eighth pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Falcons select – Michael Penix Jr., quarterback, Washington. As the announcement was made, my jaw literally hit the floor. Then my immediate reaction was to text our editor and publisher at The Hartwell Sun, Patrick Fargason.

Time to hit the follow button on X

As spring sports wrap up, another fantastic athletic season comes to an end for all of the teams that compete over at Hart County High School. Many great moments happened out on the courts or fields, but maybe you didn’t get to see it.

Wife of the year

While I love watching my children open their presents on Christmas morning, at 46-years-old it’s rare that I get excited about opening a gift of my own. I don’t need or want anything, and if I do I’ll just buy it on my own. My attitude reflects most men I know.
