Kudos to our nurses

Congratulations to Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) Selena Sanders and Lisa Martin for achieving their advanced practice certificates.  The Hartwell Sun is thanked for putting their accomplishments in this innovative program on the front page this week.

Race and Politics

Republicans focus on the individual vs. groups, races, etc., which somehow gets a racist interpretation, which is bizarre reverse logic. Democrats take the African American/Black community and other groups for granted, expect them to vote lockstep as a group vs.

A letter to two first-time presidential voters

Dear Wyatt and Hayes: You are about to experience an American privilege, one that your great-grandfathers helped to protect. Both men served in the Army in the Philippines. Neither knew each other. And they certainly didn’t know that one’s son would marry the other’s daughter.

Things I Won’t Do Again

Life is full of lessons. We learn them in school as well as in life. Some of the lessons come easy and their benefits are obvious. Others, however, may be hard earned and come with warnings.

Thank you, Lexie

I will be the first to admit, I had a completely different column written out for this week, as I had planned on writing about the Class of 2024 as a whole and how they will be one of the most talented athletic classes to ever walk the halls of Hart County High School.

My favorite Hart County graduate

I took over the publisher role for The Hartwell Sun around the same time the Class of 2024 was embarking on their senior year at Hart County High School. When I got here, the paper had been without and editor for nine months and without a reporter for three months.
