Lady Dogs sweep Carolina schools while falling to Elbert

The Lady Dogs picked up a pair of wins against South Carolina schools before and after their “disappointing” loss to rival Elbert County. On Dec. 12, Hart made just their second road trip this season and their second across the state line to take on the Lady Tigers of Crescent.

Mat Dogs upset Union County; place in Top 10 at Knight Tough Tournament

The Mat Dogs rallied from behind to complete the comeback to upset Union County before both the boys and girls teams placed inside the Top 10 at the Knight Tough Tournament at Evans High School. On Nov. 20, Hart hosted the Panthers of Union County in the Dog Pound for the home opener.

Kenyon Harris named Athlete of the Week

This week’s Athlete of the Week presented by Johnson Heating & Air goes to the Mat Dogs’ senior wrestler Kenyon Harris. Harris helped his team capture a massive comeback win, as he wrestled up in the 285 weight class and pinned his opponent to complete the upset over Union County Nov. 20.

Dogs heroic effort falls short in first round

After holding a 20-17 lead at the half, the Dogs watched their lead slip away after Appling County scored 14-unanswered points to end Hart’s season. On Nov. 14, Hart made the long trip down to Baxley to take on the No. 5 seeded Pirates of Appling County. Hart won the toss and elected to receive.

Athlete of the Week – Faustino Rangel

This week’s Athlete of the Week presented by Johnson Heating & Air goes to football’s junior running back Faustino Rangel. Despite the 31-20 loss in the first round against Appling County, Rangel rushed for nearly 200 yards and scored three different times in the first half.

Mat Dogs start the season strong

The Mat Dogs open up the season placing second at Lakeside Evans and splitting on the road at Franklin County. On Nov. 15, Hart opened up the 2025-2026 campaign with a trip to Lakeside Evans High School to compete in the Rumble at the Jungle. The boys placed second overall out of 13 teams.
