Lady Dogs start region play 1-0

After falling to Madison County to begin the new year, the Lady Dogs started region play 1-0 with a win over Prince Avenue Christian. On Jan. 4, Hart hosted the Lady Raiders of Madison County for the first game of the new year.

Thomas commits to Purdue

Former Hart County and Virginia Tech running back Malachi Thomas commits to Purdue University to play his final season of college football. On Jan. 5, Purdue Football was the first to announce Thomas’ commitment on X.

Lady Dogs finish as runner-ups in McDonald’s Shootout

After snapping a three-game skid against Oglethorpe County, the Lady Dogs finished as the runner-ups in the 17th annual McDonald’s Shootout. On Dec. 23, Hart hosted the Lady Patriots of Oglethorpe County. The Lady Dogs dominated the first half of play as they went into the half with a 27-11 lead.

DOGS CROWNED CHAMPIONS OF McDONALD’S SHOOTOUT

The Dogs captured their first McDonald’s Shootout Championship since 2022, while going 1-1 outside of the tournament. On Dec. 23, Hart hosted the Patriots of Oglethorpe County. Oglethorpe came out and punched the Dogs in the mouth and took a 17-9 lead at the end of the first quarter.
