The Hart County Rookie softball team fell in its bout against Dudley at the Little League All-Star State Championship on Saturday, June 19. The team lost with a final score of 15-0 at Warner Robins after winning the sectionals tournament on June 9.

Two Hartwell-based fighters overcame obstacles to add wins to their resume at NFC 133 on June 12 in Anderson, South Carolina. Contemporary Martial Arts fighters Tyler Barber and Christian Hardin both won by decision in their National Fighting Championship amateur MMA fights last Saturday night.

One Hart County Little League All-Star team emerged victorious, while the other headed home after their games on Wednesday, June 9. Hart County Rookie softball team won both games in the sectional tournament championship in Franklin County this past week against Oconee County.

By Drew Dotson Staff writer The Atlanta Journal-Constitution named Gabby Buffington the slow-pitch softball athlete of the year for the 2020-2021 year. Buffington, a senior at Hart County High School, played shortstop for both the  slow-pitch and fast-pitch softball teams.

Cheyenne Rucker, pictured above, started gymnastics at the Bell Family YMCA five years ago. She quickly moved up and has been competing for the past four years. Her favorite event is the uneven bars because she has always been a daredevil and loves to flip up high.
