William Morris King

W. Morris King William Morris King, 71, of 601 Kings Road Lavonia, Ga., passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on October 25, 2020.  Morris was born on August, 16, 1949, at Stephens County Hospital. He was the son of the late H. Dorsey King, Sr.

Jamie Thornton Jamie Edmond Thornton, 94, of Old Middleton Road, Elberton, Ga., husband of 74 years to Elsie Irael Martin Thornton, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

Jack Martin

Jack Martin Jack Kay Martin, 79, of Johnny Street in Hartwell, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October, 24 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Jack was born on June 26, 1941 in Hartwell. He retired from the City of Hartwell Fire Department with 37 years of service.

Claire M. Scales, 94, of Lavonia, died Oct. 25, 2020. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia.

Michael Robert Woody, 42, of Royston, died Oct. 26, 2020. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, at the Liberty Baptist Church of Carnesville. Burial and a balloon release will take place in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery following the memorial service.
