Georgia House study committee takes up fishing rights

ATLANTA – State agency regulations may be a better way of settling the legally complex issue of public fishing rights in Georgia than new legislation, a former director of the state Environmental Protection Division said Thursday.

When Cateechee Ranch’s new ownership closed on the property Feb. 9, owner and CEO Tyler Cox stated that reopening its restaurant was a top priority. Now, the restaurant is open to serve members and non-members alike--and Cox is especially looking forward to welcoming the public.

Deputies arrest SC man after drive-by shooting

A South Carolina man is in custody after a Aug. 19 drive-by shooting on Lavonia Highway. According to Captain Chris Carroll of Hart County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), around 10 p.m. that night, a vehicle pulled into a residence’s driveway and fired multiple shots.
