Four Hart County students graduate from UGA

The University of Georgia confirmed over 3,200 graduate candidates in the class of 2024 during its fall commencement ceremonies held at the Stegman Coliseum in Athens Dec. 13.

Chafin honored as member of the year

Hart County’s Bill Chafin, a private sector representative on the Georgia Mountains Regional Labor Commission (GMRC), was presented the 2024 Council Member of the Year Award during the GMRC’s annual meeting at Lake Lanier Olympic Park Dec. 6.

Georgia voters show strong confidence in 2024 elections

ATLANTA – A poll of Georgia voters conducted after last month’s elections showed a high level of confidence in the voting process. According to the survey of 1,541 Georgians who voted in the presidential election, 98% said they didn’t experience any problems casting a ballot. In addition, 98.

Community Chorus brings the magic of Christmas to Hartwell

On December 15, Hartwell’s Community Chorus presented its annual choral Christmas celebration at Hartwell’s First Baptist Church on E. Howell St. The performance, titled “Gloria,” featured more than 40 voices and instrumentalists for the standing room only crowd.

The Hartwell Sun receives 2024 Beacon Award

The Hartwell Sun was recognized as a 2024 Beacon Award winner during the Georgia State School Board Association’s (GSBA) annual conference Dec. 13 at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta.
