The Hartwell Sun receives 2024 Beacon Award

The Hartwell Sun was recognized as a 2024 Beacon Award winner during the Georgia State School Board Association’s (GSBA) annual conference Dec. 13 at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta.

Service League presents Christmas Tour of Homes

A holiday tradition will return to Hart County next weekend featuring historic residences and holiday decorations. The Hartwell Service League’s (HSL) annual Christmas Tour of Homes will feature five beautifully decorated homes throughout the county that patrons can tour on Saturday, Dec.

Georgia economy to grow in 2025 but more slowly

ATLANTA - Georgia’s economy will continue growing next year but at a slower rate than in 2024, the dean of the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business said Friday. The state’s economy is projected to grow by 2.4% in 2025, down from 3.

Hart County CCRPI scores exceed state average

Last week, the Georgia Department of Education released the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) scores for every school district in the state. The Hart County Charter System announced that every school in the district exceeded the state average in at least two categories.
