Educators, groups want to address teacher shortage

ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Education kicked off a new teacher recruitment campaign Tuesday to address a teacher shortage. The move is necessary as a generation of teachers nears retirement after two decades and more in the classroom, State School Superintendent Richard Woods said.

Annual Polar Bear Plunge coming March 1

The Northeast Georgia (NEGA) Council on Domestic Violence is proud to partner with Purina to present the 29th Annual Polar Bear Plunge and Winter Festival March 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will take place at the Gum Branch Mega Ramp located at 1352 Vanna Waller Road.

Local students named to collegiate honor rolls

Kennesaw State University has named more than 6,400 students to the President’s List in recognition of their academic excellence for the Fall 2024 semester. To achieve this honor, each undergraduate student must have completed at least nine credit hours with a term grade point average of 4.0.

Hart County 4-H’ers win state Dairy Quiz Bowl competition
