Lake Hartwell Association’s annual meeting streaming March 11

Current and perspective members of the Lake Hartwell Association will have the opportunity to participate in the organization’s annual meeting March 11 by watching the live stream at the Hartwell Art Center. The actual event will take place at the Civic Center of Anderson.
Rotary Club of Hartwell members who attended the installation of the new members of the Rotary Club of Lavonia Feb. 6 at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia include (L-R) Mike Everett, Rich Mewborn, Melissa NeSmith, Theo Derleth, Jeff Loggins, Nancy Butler, Debbie Kulcsar, Jason Ford, Mike Alexander, Wyndee McKinnon, Frank Slovenic, Billy Kidd and Brian Metzger. The Lavonia club will be considered a satellite club of the Hartwell club until it reaches 20 members and can apply for its own charter.

Bowersville water rates to increase April 1

Water customers of the Town of Bowersville will see increased water rates beginning with the April 1 billing cycle after the council approved new rates Feb. 20. The approved rates increase the base rates, as well as the per gallon incremental rates, for both residential and commercial customers.

‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ debuts Friday

The timeless story of “To Kill a Mockingbird” will be told on the Hart County Community Theatre stage for the next three weekends as the play opens Feb. 28. The tragedy is adapted from Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel set in Alabama during the Great Depression.
