Two psychiatrists reconnected at their 20th class reunion. One looked as though he had just graduated. The other appeared, as the expression goes,  “rode hard and put up wet.” Though the same age as his colleague, he looked much older–wrinkled and worn. “What’s your secret?” the weary one asked.

The nine-banded armadillo has become an enemy of the homeowner over the past 50 years as it has spread throughout the Southeastern United States, and Hart County homeowners are no exception. Armadillos are often found digging around in yards and on roadsides foraging for their next meal.

As many people in my age bracket are prone to do, I am sometimes awakened during a typical night’s sleep for a visit to the bathroom.  There are TV commercials aplenty noting that this is not how it has to be.

Hellish hurricanes help put things into perspective

Albert Einstein theorized that things (such as time, space, mass and motion) are relative. To me, that suggests putting things into perspective. In a seven-day span, my personal perspective couldn’t have been more powerful if a jackhammer had been pounding inside my brain.

Hartwell man dies after car crash Friday

After a serious one-vehicle crash last Friday, Oct. 4, a Hartwell man succumbed to his critical injuries. According to a Georgia State Patrol report, at approximately 1:15 p.m., GSP from Post 52 - Hartwell responded to the crash with reports of series injuries.

Georgia Voter Alert: Ballot Tracking Now Available on MVP

Last week, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced that ballot tracking notifications are now available through Georgia’s My Voter Page (MVP). Raffensperger urges Georgia voters opting to vote Absentee-by-Mail to request their ballots on MVP as early as possible.
