Hart County girls basketball head coach Mike Edwards has been cemented into the Valwood High School Hall of Fame.    Edwards’ alma mater, Valwood High School out of Valdosta, inducted its fourth class into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame Sept. 11-12.

The City of Hartwell’s proposed general fund budget is expected to surpass $8 million in 2026, with transfers from utility departments outweighing property taxes as a revenue stream for another year, and cost-of-living increases being the largest increase in expenditures.
Hart County Community Theatre’s performances of “Into the Woods” will take the stage beginning Friday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. Performances will run the weekends of Sept. 19 through Sept. 21, Sept. 26 through Sept. 28 and Oct. 3 through Oct. 5.
