Weaving love through plastic bags

Many Hart County grocery shoppers have this underneath the kitchen sink, the notorious bag of plastic bags. Now, a local non-profit group promoting recycling and compassion for others called Linked Together has a great use the unused bags and are coming to Hartwell to show how to repurpose them.

BOE plans to lower millage rate

On October 11, the Hart County Board of Education (BOE) announced its intention to vote on the millage rate at their next regularly scheduled meeting Oct. 16. The vote comes following a total of three public hearings on the matter. Two of the hearings were held Oct.

Boys Cross Country places 12th at Mountain Invitational

The Hart County boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Helen to compete in the 2023 Mountain Invitational Sept. 28, where the boys placed 12th overall. For the boys, junior Nate Harris was the top finisher for the Dogs placing 21st.

Dogs looks to end Warriors three game win streak over Hart

After picking up their first region win over Franklin, Hart returns home to face the Warriors of Oconee County. These two teams have played off and on since its first meeting in 1980. Hart won the first meeting against the Warriors in 1980 in a close 20-14 win in Herndon Stadium.

Softball ends regular season winless in region play

The Lady Dogs dropped the final three regular season games at home against Stephens County, Hebron Christian, and Oconee County to go winless in region play. Hart started off the homestand taking on the Lady Indians of Stephens County on senior night Sept. 28.
