Expo features the best of Hart County agriculture

Hart County’s agricultural community was front and center last Saturday during the Northeast Georgia Ag Expo at the Hart County Agriscience Center.

Hartwell Kiwanis to celebrate diamond anniversary

The lead story of The Hartwell Sun on  Aug. 26, 1949 broke the news: Local Kiwanis Club given its charter. On a rain soaked Aug. 22 at the old Nancy Hart hotel, Hartwell’s Kiwanis Club received its charter from Kiwanis International, and welcomed guests from two states in celebration of the event.

Bowersville, commissioners debate one-way streets

At the Bowersville Town Council’s meeting on Aug. 15, one of the most prominent topics of conversation was a contentious item that was removed from the agenda: the first reading of a resolution on one-waying some of the town’s streets.

Computer forecast for Region 8-AA

The Maxwell Ratings, compiled by mathematician and Georgia High School Football Historians Association founder Loren Maxwell, have projected the region finishes of all 415 football-playing schools in the GHSA.
