Hart County’s agricultural community was front and center last Saturday during the Northeast Georgia Ag Expo at the Hart County Agriscience Center.
Taken around 1950, a year after receiving its charter, are the founding members of the Hartwell Kiwanis Club. The club will celebrate its 75th anniversary on Aug. 29 at Casa Grande.

The lead story of The Hartwell Sun on  Aug. 26, 1949 broke the news: Local Kiwanis Club given its charter. On a rain soaked Aug. 22 at the old Nancy Hart hotel, Hartwell’s Kiwanis Club received its charter from Kiwanis International, and welcomed guests from two states in celebration of the event.
