The Hart County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:   The following is a list of names entered into the booking computer at Hart County Jail for Aug 27 - Sept. 2, 2024. Names, ages and towns are listed as they appear in the computer.
Crystal Thornton (left), the wife of the late Roberius Thornton who was shot and killed in an altercation at a local nightclub two years ago, hosted a balloon release at her husband’s grave site Sept. 2. Thornton is still searching for answers regarding her husband’s death, which remains and unsolved crime.

Victim’s family still seeks answers two years after shooting

In the early morning hours of Labor Day two years ago, a shooting at local nightclub Jack’s Bar and Grill left two dead. Today, Crystal Thornton--the wife of one victim, Roberius Thornton--is still searching for answers about the unsolved crime.
Hart County High School was the site of the Hands Across the Border traffic enforcement campaign Aug. 28. The Hartwell Police Department and the Northeast Georgia Traffic Enforcement Network hosted the final stop in the campaign which kicks off every year leading up to Labor Day weekend.

It seems appropriate that the popular American Ninja Warrior is showing on television when Myles Humphus telephones me. Humphus is not a Ninja, but he’s certainly a warrior. He could pass for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the actor. In fact, he has passed for Johnson, many times over the last 11 years.
