Local students named to collegiate honor rolls

Kennesaw State University has named more than 6,400 students to the President’s List in recognition of their academic excellence for the Fall 2024 semester. To achieve this honor, each undergraduate student must have completed at least nine credit hours with a term grade point average of 4.0.

Hart County 4-H’ers win state Dairy Quiz Bowl competition

4-H students from Hart County in fourth through eighth grades participated in the state Dairy Quiz Bowl Competition at Rock Eagle on Jan. 24.

Stop signs, resurfacing coming on Elberton Highway

NEWS UPDATE: Following press time Wednesday, signs on Elberton Highway had been updated to reflect a new date of Feb. 26 for the all-way stop in the Nuberg area. The previously reported date was Feb. 20.

Three Dogs tabbed for All-Region honors

One Dog wins Region Player of the Year, one makes the All-Region team and one earns an honorable mention. On Feb. 11, coaches from around Region 8-AA met to decide the Region Player of the Year, and the All-Region team.

Sectionals bound

Hart County sends one Lady Mat Dog and all 12 Mat Dogs to Sectionals after competing well at Area Traditionals. On Jan. 31, the Lady Mat Dogs traveled to Stephens County to compete in Girls Area Traditionals.
