The Hart County Mat Dogs celebrate their victory over Murray County and Lumpkin County in the state wrestlig duals preliminary tournament on Saturday, Jan. 23, at Hart County High School, earning them a berth in the state duals tournament this coming Saturday at Cherokee Bluff. Winning sectionals puts the Mat Dogs among the final eight duals teams in the state.

County buys fingerprint equipment

The process of fingerprinting for firearms licenses could soon be streamlined in Hart County.
The Hart County Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 on Tuesday, Jan. 26, to authorize the purchase of fingerprinting technology for the Probate Court to use.

Bowersville sets alcohol license fees

The price for an alcohol license in Bowersville has been set.
The Bowersville Town Council voted unanimously at its regular meeting on Jan. 22 to set the beer and wine license fee at $1,000, along with an application fee of $300.
The license fee is set at the max amount the state allows.
