By Josh Brannen Staff writer   If you have a question that needs to be axed, business owner Taylor Griffith is the man you want to speak with. Griffith is the new owner of the axe throwing company Chuckers Axe Lounge in downtown Hartwell at 358 E Howell St.

Hart County High students named AP Scholars

Submitted by HCCS   Hart County High School Principal Kevin Gaines announced last week that five students received the distinction of AP Scholar, with one student receiving the AP Scholar with Honors distinction.

Depot Day, HartToberFest on tap for Oct. 16

Southern Hart Brewery and the Pilot Club of Hartwell are partnering to bring an eventful festival day to downtown Hartwell on Saturday, Oct. 16. The latter is presenting the 16th annual Hartwell Depot Day festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. along Depot Street featuring food, vendors and crafts.

The Hart County Bulldogs shut out the Franklin County Lions inside Ed Bryant Stadium in a 37-0 win to start their region play. Hart County’s defense limited Franklin County to 139 yards of total offense, an average of 3.1 yards per play, in their win on Friday, Oct. 1.

Man wanted in Hart, 2 other counties after vehicle chase

Hart County Sheriff Mike Cleveland said Tuesday that authorities from Hart, Franklin and Madison Counties all had multiple warrants out for Kristopher Harlow, 23, after he allegedly evaded police on a vehicular chase on the night of Friday, Oct. 1.
